BAIT is a Digital Skills Certification System, which accredits the skills of a person in the use of computer tools and the Internet.

The objective of BAIT, aligned with the Ikanos initiative, is focused on the qualification of professional profiles through a digital competence assessment service, following the European digital competence framework Digcomp. This new system is based on the evaluation of knowledge, skills and attitudes of citizens for a specific competence profile.

Basque Government is committed to the development of knowledge and digital competences of citizens, companies, the administration, the educational sector and other sectors of society.

People need to present evidence of their capabilities after completing their non-formal and informal learning processes, through prestigious certifications that ensure their employability, improve their opportunities and allow them to access higher quality jobs.

BAIT system is public, free, accessible, inclusive and innovative. BAIT updates the success elements of the IT Txartela certification system, after 12 years of operation and more than 500,000 online exams. It also updates the evaluation platform to adapt it to DigComp framework and to integrate it into ikanos model.

BAIT includes the following elements:

• User management support: access request, reservation of place and the rest of the management is done through the web. You can request the most convenient place according to the available locations and schedules.
• Locations for testing: assessments are carried out in approved centers (mainly the Basque telecenter network KZgunea) and there are supervisors for the assessment sessions.
• Assessment Platform: tests are done in an online platform, in a fixed time and with supervision. Results are automatic. All the sub-processes (call, registration, summons, attendance, correction, complaints and emission of the certification) are standardized and have digital tools and procedures that support them.
• Accreditation platform: The results are issued and sent to the Metaposta mailbox, a digital mailbox/strongbox in the Basque Country.
